Ogdensburg, NY — The Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg, NY will host  artists from the Morristown Plein Air Festival on Saturday, August 3rd with a special gallery talk at 4:30.

The term “plein air” refers to painting outdoors, in the open air. Plein air artists from the festival will be visiting the Museum and painting the local landscape. The public is invited to interact with the artists throughout the day. The Museum will make sketching materials available, free of charge, for artists of all levels to try their hand at plein air drawing!

Then join us at 4:30 pm for a special talk from Julie Pratt, Museum Experience Manager and Educator, featuring Remington and his experience as a North Country plein air painter.

“While Remington is most widely known for his depiction of the wild West, it was in his beloved North Country that he was able to hone his skills as a painter.” says Julie, “ I am excited to share Remington’s experience as a plein air painter with the visiting artists.”

The talk is open to the public and free with Museum admission. There will be a private reception following the talk for the artists from the festival.
