Art Highlights & Tea at the Remington Museum

Ogdensburg, NY — The Frederic Remington Art Museum invites the community to the next “Art Highlights & Tea” program on Wednesday, March 20. The program begins with a gallery talk by Museum Curator & Educator, Laura Desmond, to be followed by an elegant tea in the Museum’s parlors. Desmond will explore representations of settler colonialism and imperialism in Remington’s work, focusing on works featured in the current Centennial Exhibition.

The talk will take place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, at the Frederic Remington Art Museum. The talk is free and open to the public, and will be presented in the Museum’s Addie P. Newell Gallery.

After the presentation, at 3:00 pm, a delicious tea will be served in the Museum’s parlors featuring traditional English tea specialties. The tea ($15 for Museum members, $20 for non-members) is provided courtesy of Anne Skelly, Fran Moore, and friends. Please call (315) 393-2425, email info@fredericremington.org, or reserve seats for the tea through the Museum’s online shop.

Art Highlights & Tea is a long-standing educational and community program at the Remington Museum. Lectures begin at 2pm and are always free and open to the public; the tea, organized and run by volunteers, begins at 3pm and raises funds to support the Museum. Seats for the tea fill up quickly, so it is recommended to reserve spots early.

The Museum will offer free admission for the entire day on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. The Museum will also offer a paid Sketching in the Gallery class that day from 10am-12pm.
