Art in Conversation:
Join us each month for an engaging discussion led by Education Manager Julie Pratt. Together, we’ll delve into various themes and topics, exploring their connection to the featured artworks. Each session offers a 30-minute experience of thoughtful observation, reflection, conversation, and interpretation, creating a deeper understanding of art. You can check out the topic of the month by visiting our calendar and selecting the day you would like to attend.
The Art in Conversation program is an on-site/virtual hybrid; participants can join the conversation remotely via Zoom or in person at the Museum.
During this winter season there will be two sessions offered per month:
Second Saturday of every month, from 12 pm - 12:30 pm
Third Thursday of every month, from 12 pm - 12:30 pm
AFter the conversation ends, participants are invited to dive deeper into the conversation at 1 pm with Beyond the Artwork; a guided tour expanding on the theme discussed during Art in Conversation. To learn more about this tour click here.
Note: Right now, the Beyond the Artwork tours are not hybrid, they are only offered in person.
Themes we will be exploring:
March: Sally James Farnham and her experience as a woman sculptor at the turn of the century
April: Remington and the importance of his North Country landscape paintings to his development as an artist
May: Remington and war: Charge of the Rough Riders
