Ogdensburg, NY — The Frederic Remington Art Museum concludes its annual “Art Highlights and Tea” lecture series with a special presentation of the Museum’s One Hour One Work program. Museum Education Specialist Laura Desmond will introduce the One Hour One Work program, and then facilitate a conversation about Frederic Remington’s 1899 oil painting, Captured, which is on loan to the Remington Museum from the Sid Richardson Museum in Fort Worth, TX.

The presentation will take place at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10 at the Frederic Remington Art Museum. The program is free and open to the public, and will be presented in the Museum’s Albert P. Newell Gallery.

In a typical One Hour One Work program, a Museum educator facilitates 60 minutes of focused looking, consideration, conversation, and interpretation of a single artwork. The program, which has been a regular Museum offering since last summer, is usually limited to six participants; the April 10th conversation will be a unique, large-group exploration of Remington’s complex oil painting, Captured, under the guidance of Museum Education Specialist Laura Desmond.

After the program, at 3:00 PM, a delicious tea will be served in the parlors, courtesy of Glory Martel and friends. The cost is $10 for Remington Museum members and $15 for non-members. Please call (315) 393-2425, email desmond@fredericremington.org, or reserve seats at the tea online at fredericremington.org.

The “Art Highlights and Tea” series takes place from January through April on the second Wednesday of each month. Lectures begin at 2 PM and are always free and open to the public; the tea, organized and run by volunteers, begins at 3 PM. Seats for the tea fill up quickly, so it is recommended to reserve spots early on.
