OGDENSBURG, NY - The Frederic Remington Art Museum’s 2019 International Juried Art Exhibition will open on Saturday, September 21, with a free public reception from 2 to 4 pm.The public is invited to come and meet the artists at the reception, see their excellent work, and have some fun at the Museum.
For this year’s exhibition, the Remington Museum received 95 images submitted by 35 artists. Juror Peter Russom selected 46 works to be in the exhibition, including drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, and mixed media works. Russom states, “The works included in the 2019 International Juried Art Exhibition demonstrate a tremendous range of exciting approaches to creating art with an equally diverse breadth of concepts. The complexity of concepts pursued by the artists speaks to the sophistication of their studio practice. Every artist included in the show offers the viewer a thoughtful idea with a corresponding command of the formal properties of their work.”
The exhibition will be on display during the Museum’s fall season, continuing through into the new year and ending on Sunday, January 12, 2020.
Many of the works on display will be for sale. One third of the proceeds benefit the Frederic Remington Art Museum, and two thirds go to the artist. The exhibit will have an online gallery at www.fredericremington.org.
