OGDENSBURG, NY - The Frederic Remington Art Museum recently received a donation from North Country Savings Bank in support of Museumeducation.
Laura A. Foster, director of the Frederic Remington Art Museum, receives a check from
Branch Operations Supervisor Stacy Gushea
at North Country Savings Bank in Ogdensburg, NY.  North Country Savings Bank's gift of $500 will be used in support of the Museum’s educational programming at the Frederic Remington Art Museum
and the Eva Caten Remington Education Center
. “
North Country
Savings Bank is a wonderful partner in supporting education programming
,” said museum director Laura A. Foster.
As the museum progresses in fulfillment of the goals in our strategic plan, the education center fills an increasing role in serving many community audiences with quality art programming. This contribution makes a very real difference in our service to the community and our mission."
This gift supports new programming, such as
"One Hour One Work," where
participants to slow down and dive deep into a single work of art on display at the Remington Museum. In September, there will be four small-group opportunities to spend quality time with The Love Call, which will be on loan to the Remington Museum from the Sid Richardson Museum in Fort Worth, TX. Each session, a Museum educator will facilitate 60 minutes of focused looking, consideration, conversation, and interpretation of a single artwork. Four sessions will be offered each month, with a different artwork featured each month.
It also supports this August's monthly program "Family Fridays" in which children 6-14 and their adult caregivers an opportunity to explore the work of Frederic Remington on display at the Remington Museum, and to engage in hands-on artmaking related to our explorations in the Museum. Participants can sign up for as many or few of the classes as they like.
