The Frederic Remington Art Museum announces its 2019 International Juried Art Exhibit, opening on September 21, 2019. This biennial exhibition is open to any artist 18 years and older living within a 100 mile radius of the Remington Museum. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, August 13.

For the 2019 International Art Exhibit, artists are invited to submit up to three digital photos of their art. Selected artworks will be on display during the Museum’s busy fall tourist season, so works will receive maximum exposure.

For this year’s International Exhibit, the Remington Museum is very pleased to have as its juror the accomplished artist and teacher Peter Russom. Russom is a Professor of Art at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Exhibiting his work in national and international exhibitions for more than thirty years, Mr. Russom’s paintings and drawings are included in numerous corporate and private collections throughout the United States, Canada, Italy, and South Korea. His most recent national exhibitions have been in Colorado, Missouri, and Rhode Island. Mr. Russom received a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1987 and a B.A. from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1985.  He has received multiple awards for the quality of his teaching including the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. The deadline for submission of digital images, information, and payment is Tuesday, August 13. Submission can be completed online, or via email to or on CD or thumb drive with an entry form and payment mailed to the Museum. The full prospectus and entry form can be viewed at

The exhibit opens with a reception on Saturday, September 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, and will remain on view until January 12, 2020. Works in the exhibit may be offered for sale, with one third of the price benefiting the Museum. For more information, contact or call (315) 393-2425.
