Sketch and Study Club

The Frederic Remington Art Museum invites the public to our monthly series of Sketch and Study Club. Every Second Saturday of the month, participants will get a chance to spend some time with Frederic Remington’s artwork in the galleries, while honing their drawing skills.

 

This session is designed with minimal instruction, allowing participants to focus on their own needs and areas for further development. Guided by artist and Education Manager Julie Pratt, attendees will receive one-on-one instruction and develop a drawing practice that will strengthen the foundation of their creative work. These drawing sessions are a great way to develop observational drawing skills. Some areas of focused instruction and practice in this class will include line, perspective, shading, mark-making, color, proportion, and composition.

 

All ranges of drawing experience are welcome. This class is most suited for ages 15+. Drawing materials will be provided, though artists are encouraged to bring their own sketchbooks. The cost of the class is $5 for members of the Remington Museum and $10 for non-members. Registration is not required to attend.
